image The next two shots are of the parade held on 1st November 1968 to formalise the handover from 1 Armd Sqn Wksp (OC Capt Brian Coulter) and the takeover by 106 Fd Wksp (OC Maj Norm Hicks-Hall).

The parade was conducted on the apron of the armoured repair shop (known as the "Opera House") This high lift building had belonged to 1 Armd Sqn Wksp.

The open ground to the left was eventually the site of the 106 Fd Wksp Stores Section, RAAOC. Until their storehouses and control office was built they were operating out of marquees and tents beside the Main Unit.

Note the black beret in the front rank.
