Probably everyone flew Wallaby Airlines at some stage or other, if only between Luscombe and Tan Son Nhut for RTA or R&R

For that reason it was much loved

35 (Transport) Squadron RAAF were equipped with 15 of these DHC-4A Caribou.

The first Flight of three aircraft arrived at Vung Tau, in direct support of 1 ATF in 1965

The aircraft had the capacity to carry 18,000lb or 41 troops (an infantry platoon). It also excelled as a STOL (short take off and landing) aircraft on low grade strips (with lower payloads)
