![]() The O-2A was configured to carry rockets and flares and was used by Forward Air Controllers to identify and mark targets with smoke rockets, and, coordinate air strikes. The O-2B carried loud speakers, but no weaponry, and was used for psychological operations. HQ 1ATF had a Psychological Warfare Section. The aircraft had two tail booms and was powered by two motors mounted in tandem, providing for push and pull propellors. The two engines enabled the aircraft to take more ground fire before being disabled. These aircraft arrived in Theatre in 1967. |
