The 1st Australian Logistic Support Group at Vung Tau backed onto the beach. The area was notable for the ubiquitous white sand, the wind throughout the year, sun glasses and the amount of aircon. The base was located on the eastern side of the Vung Tau peninsula on Front Beach facing the South China Sea. Big Mountain is in the background.
